The Base Picnic Pavilions and Grounds are located adjacent to Memorial Lake and include a covered pavilion with barbecue grills and picnic tables, rest rooms and playground equipment. Available for Squadron parties, cookouts, birthday's and other events.

Rentals

The Outdoor  Recreation supply checkout provides patrons with items ranging from tents, boats and trailers to barbecue grills, gardening tools and ice chests. All rentals are available on a daily, weekend or weekly basis. We pride ourselves on providing everything you need from your outdoor adventures to your backyard party, recreational, and gardening needs.

Storage Area

A locked, fenced storage lot, located behind the Shoppette, is available for patron usage. Personal recreational vehicles (i.e. campers, boats, motor homes, and privately owned vehicles) may be stored by individuals that are going on temporary duty or permanent change of station, with a follow-on assignment back to Shaw.

Individuals may register for use of this lot through the ODR office and individuals will be designated a parking spot number. For additional questions call or stop by the ODR office during normal buisness hours.

Camping doesn't have to be rough! Shaw Family Campgrounds (FAMCAMP) offer great outdoor accommodations.

The park at Shaw AFB is located at 1 Famcamp Drive, Shaw AFB, SC 29152. The campground offers 30 sites (24 long term and 6 short stay) with water, sewer, and electric (50 amp, 30 amp, 110v) and all are back-in, we don’t offer pull through sites. RV sites are asphalt with a concrete square adjacent to each site, plus a picnic table. The park has a bath house and laundry room with 2 washers and 2 dryers. An asphalt road leads in and out of the park. Camp Shaw also has 4 tent sites, no water or electricity available.

The FAMCAMP office, located at 1 Famcamp Drive, Shaw AFB, SC 29152, is open Monday-Tuesday (closed Wednesday) Thursday-Friday from 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.

Shaw FAMCAMP is now operating on a reservation-only basis for both long-term and short-term sites. Reservations can be made 60 days in advance for active duty members; 30 days in advance for retirees and other eligible members. Each campsite is limited to one (1) RV and two (2) vehicles.

RV spaces rent for $25 per day. Tent sites are $10 per day. Spaces are available to all personnel authorized to use Outdoor Recreation facilities — active duty, retired military, and DoD civilians. Guests can be sponsored on base and stay in the campground but the sponsor must be present with their guests at all times. The maximum length of stay for sponsored guests is restricted to 14 days, and all sponsored guests must be reported to the FAMCAMP staff.

Upon reaching the 180 day mark for long-term sites, guests are required to vacate the campground for 1 day before seeking another stay with us. Upon reaching the 30 day mark for short stay sites, guests are required to vacate the campground for 1 day before seeking another stay with us.

Check-out time is 12 p.m. on the day of departure. Late checkouts will incur a one day charge per day. Guests requiring a late check-out must submit a request no later than 12 p.m. on the day prior to their departure date.
